LADIES - Specialized or Cube for a starter?

Hi guys,

My missus has got the MTB bug, so we have a choice of 2 bikes within our budget... but which is best?

Specialized Myka Disc 2011

She will be doing the Pennine Trails, so nothing to Aggressive, but wants to build up... good choice? our budget is £500 TOPS.

Try both if you can, bike fit and comfort are both more important than spec in many regards.

if a good spec bike is uncomfortable it won't be ridden, a lower spec bike that is comfortable will be ridden much more.

Without telling us the details, think about her vitals. Womens bikes cater for long legs, light weight and short reach. If she is not that, then paying the womans bike premium (typically spec reduced) is not worth it.

which has seen me go an extra £170 over budget... Excluding bloody helmet etc...

GOD WOMEN ARE SO EXPENSIVE...

Out of the two I'd say that is the better bike.

I think the myka's try to cross the hardrock and rockhopper gap.

Darrenwolly, the cube bikes are awesome, good choice for her to make.

The Myka is so poor for the money that it annoys me they have the cheek to put it on the market for that price. Avoid.
