Hi All
I ride with a backpack, hate the other bags. I have a Newfeel 20L with laptop compartment. Need something a bit bigger upto 30L. What are you using?

I use a 35 litre x-ERT performance by regatta it's hydration compatible and has a zipped away raincover . It was 29 quidIf you worried about falling off the bike, you'd never get on.0

What a want is something thats breathable - I find I am sweating a lot with the current backpack when I wear a soft shell. It's still cold in the morningsRide Safe! Keep Safe!

The backpack I mentioned has a mesh/metal cage so there is a gap between you and the bag. This can be adjusted to enhance airflowIf you worried about falling off the bike, you'd never get on.0

Crumpler messenger style bag. get the strap at a decent length and it sits below the likely sweaty area of your back. superior to a rucksack IMHOBianchi Infinito CV

The Crumpler bags were designed by bike couriers in the heat of Western Australia (I think), they are brilliant for cycling, even carrying quite a heavy load. Of course panniers are a better option still, but maybe don't look as kool...0 -

Do you really need to take the laptop back and forth every day ?
I only use my Deuter 10L [1] one day a week - on "changeover day"
The other four days everything is in my jersey pockets.

I use a bike hut pannier set i got from Halfords... they do laptop bags 2 i think???0

Kathmandhu for me, but I've stopped riding with the laptop every day - the strain on my lower back was beginning to take its toll.FCN 2-4.

Whitestar -try one , you'll soon be a believer.
Conjoy - probably right re panniers re effectiveness and less coolness, also damned expensive option on a Brompton.Bianchi Infinito CV

That looks really good actually, love the vent design. The helment features on backpacks are a waste of time for me I never use them personally0 -
I use a courier bag I got out of Halfords for a tenner on sale.
Used to use a backpack, the courier bag is far more comfortable and less sweaty. It has a stabilisation strap so it doesn't move around, but it wouldn't be stable enough for riding off road.0 -

I have had a browse around the web and really like the regatta x-ert. I would love to actually see one. Doubt it would have a laptop compartment, but it looks capable.Ride Safe! Keep Safe!
