hi

does anyone know the main differences between the wcs ds wheels as fitted to the 2010 boardman pro carbon and the pro ds wheels fitted to the 2010 team carbon?

i did a search and tried google and the ritchey and boardman site couldnt find anything.

any help e.g. weight, hubs, spokes etc would be appreciated.

cheers

the rims are a bit lighter and the hubs are cartridge bearing probaly ritchie as opposed to the formula hubs on the ds which havent give any troble in dry weather. ithey may be bladed spokes on the wcs. its mainly in the name of weight i think.

As Rake says, the WCS is lighter and has bladed spokes.

The Deep Section Pro weight is claimed as 1715g a pair but normally weigh in at approx 1800g. I weighed mine when changing my cassette and they were 1820g. This is a good weight for an OE supplied wheel.

The WCS Deep Section version are claimed as 1610g but weigh in very slightly less than that.

    excellent thanks.

would you notice a difference upgrading from the Pro DS to the WCS DS on a boardman team carbon?

The bladed spokes would help. If you can get them used/cheap then I would go for it.

I will likely go to RS80s when I eventually upgrade but my DS Pros are fine for my use (sub 50 mile rides, not mental gradient climbs) at the moment.
