Hi,

I'm trying to buy my first ever road bike. I have always been a mountain biker but now think its time to get on the road. Please can i have advice on good makes etc for a complete road novice. I'm looking to spend about £800 if that will get a good enough bike?

Thankyou

if your looking for a 61cm, take a look at this,as it is only in stock as a 61cm, and it is brilliantly equipped for the money.

I'm in the process of making the same choice. I think i've plumped for the Cannondale Synapse 105 ALU. You could get the Tiagra groupset bike for £850. The thing I found was that most racing/road bikes had a really aggresive (read uncomfortable) geometry for me having come from an MTB. The Synapse feels a bit more natural to me and will hopefully make longer distances a little more comfortable. The Planet X carbon I borrowed was fantastically light and fast but it hurt to ride it ;)
