Fox Float R rear shock leak

I have a leak on my rear shock. Having replaced the valve and serviced with new rubbers I found the leak was actually where the valve meets the can. Is there anything I can do about this?

Turns out it is removable so I have ordered a air valve assembly as my attempts with PTFE tape failed. I don't hold out much hope though

Possibly pointless question, but why did you take it out in the first place?

Unscrew it and put some proper thread sealant on the threads.

It was broken before I touched it. Admittedly this isn't the usual order of breakages.

As it happens replacing the valve assembly worked a treat. I guess the small rubber seal on the end had perished over time.
