Fox Float R rear shock leak

I have a leak on my rear shock. Having replaced the valve and serviced with new rubbers I found the leak was actually where the valve meets the can. Is there anything I can do about this?

Turns out it is removable so I have ordered a air valve assembly as my attempts with PTFE tape failed. I don't hold out much hope though

Possibly pointless question, but why did you take it out in the first place?I don't do smileys.

As it happens replacing the valve assembly worked a treat. I guess the small rubber seal on the end had perished over time.0
