anyone noticed that the vengeance ltd has too large a rotor?

My brother had just bought a Carrera Vengeace Limited edition from halfords. It comes with a rubbish dart 1 fork, shimano hydraulics but with a 180 rotor.
the problem being that the dart1 is only rated up to a 160mm rotor, but the bike comes as standard with a 180mm rotor.
if something did go wrong and break, what postition would he be in?
