    As a rough guide....

    40cm = 16"
    45cm = 18"
    50-53cm = 20" or 21"

    Hope this helps

    46cm is approx 18"
    52cm is approx 21"

    Multiply the cm by 2.5 & you'll have the size in inches. 54 cm is 21.6 inch ;)

    Is this a clay class thread?!?! Surely we all know how to convert between inches and cms? And if not... there's a lot of converters on teh net or mobile phones etc?!

    Not sure if this is "clay class" :?

    My view is the OP asked a genuine question quite well articulated...Unlike your response :roll:

    The conversion of numbers is right: but means nothing really. Have a read of this:

    I wanted to buy Giant Rapid 4 Hybrid Bike.

    My height is 5"10 and inseam 32". I worked out Giant Rapid 4 M/L frame size (53.5) should be fine for me.

    However, I was looking below chart on Evans website for hybrid bike. In inches this chart is suggesting 19 -20 while in CM 55 to 57. I am confused now.

    Again, these charts and numbers on their own mean little and is hard to equate between brands.

    The seat tube measurement is ONE out of several, and even this is measured in different ways.

    As above, if you don't fully understand all the geometry, try the bike in question.

    i agree with cool dad, just go and sit on one and if when you sit in the saddle youre on tip toes then its the right frame size and saddle height.
