So I recently bought a NS core 2 And i seriously love it, the free riding is off the charts, but i signed up for a race months ago, and now The race is tomorrow, Ive hit a problem

I have a sex of XC maxxis ignitors to change over or should i just leave my Kenda kinetics at 26x2.35 or opt for the 2.1's

What would you advise?

Considering its my 1st race and all

If you're used to a set of tyres, I wouldnt bother changing them at this late stage, they might act slightly differently and you wont have had much time to get used to it.

id keep your bike in the set up you are familiar with at this late stage of the game.
  • Cheers, Yeah. Just been for a quick blast down the local woods bit of single track, and they seemed to be fine, any recommendations on what psi to run with 2.35s? currently on 50. Considering the weather recently may opt down towards 45?

TBH mate, it's not going to matter to your position overall. You'll find out quite quickly where your level is, that will only change with fittness and more racing... the componentry will make maybe a second or 10 per lap... but as the laps are 30mins or more... it will be mostly irrelevent.

Best of luck for the race.

weeksy59's spot on. I spent all day at 10 Under the Ben racing basically the same 10 people, some were on racy XC bikes, I was on my Soul, one guy was on a Wolf Ridge with lyriks in, all just cancelled itself out and we found our level together (which was pretty much from 100th to 110th I think)

  • Cheers all, yeah i found that today using a large profile of tyre helped me a lot, it was pretty sand in places, and with some killer Geo i was over taking plents on the down hills :)

only really need a lock out for my fork, the rebound is still insane.
