Hi Guys
I'd like to get your thoughts on the purchase of a first road bike.
I ride most days on a Boardman Team hybrid, covering at least 500 miles each month - consisting of quick 10-30 mile loops. I like to log every ride and monitor things to improve technique and speed etc as well the variety of routes. Additionally, I would also like to join the local Clarion club who do a very quick mid-week training 25 miler and a weekend 60-100.
The bikes (packages) I am looking at are:
FOCUS CAYO 105 Ltd Edition (£1001)
Conti GP4000s plus Conti tubes (£75)
Garmin Edge Bundle Black (£230)
Total: £1306
CUBE ATTEMPT COMPACT (£999)
Conti GP4000s plus Conti tubes (£75)
Garmin Edge Bundle Black (£230)
Total: £1304
RIBBLE SPORTIVE BIANCO
Silver 105 Compact
Mavic Cosmic Elite
Conti GP4000s plus Conti tubes
Total: £1366
The above Ribble with Mavic Krysium Elite wheels:
Total: £1386
The above Ribble with Shimano RS80 Carbon Laminate wheels:
Total: £1479
To keep the price of the Ribble builds down I would go for basic black stem, bars and seatpost etc to get the better wheels. An advantage of the Ribble build is being able to get the correct stem length and bar width. The others are fixed. For example, the Focus has bars of 40cm - I would ideally like 42cm.... though all components can be upgraded at some point in the future.
The RS80 option is stretching things too much, though it would be nice.
Unfortunately, the Focus has just gone up £75 in the past day or two, otherwise that would have been even more attractive. However, it does still have the advantage of Wiggles 30 day ride policy.
So what do you think?
Many thanks.

Depends what you are looking to spend. Should you not be looking at the Ultegra Cayo for a true comparison based on price?0

They will all do the job and if you cannot tell just by the geometry dimensions which will fit best then buy the one you think looks best. I am assuming you will be buying mail order.0

I doubt you could go wrong with any of them.
I'd probably go for the ribble and save a few hundred £££ on the wheel upgrade for a later date. See if really get into it and start racing then go for some carbon tubs or something where you'll really see a difference.0
