Fulcrum Vs. Shimano

Hi,

Decided to get a new wheelset, but I am a bit torn between the Fulcrum Red Metal 10's and Shimano MT15's.

The Shimano's would be my first choice, especially at the price they are currently at on Merlin, but I have been put off by the fact the bearings require a fair bit of tlc, and I'm not that into my tech and maitinance.
The fulcrums have double sealed bearings which "ensure long-lasting performance and minimal maintenance" but cost more.

Anyone have any experince with either? Or alternatives?

Thanks!

I have some Red Metal 5 - really nice, stiff etc.
But Simano neded a bit of grease every year or so, easy job and not a hassle, and they are pretty bulletproof.

Yeah I tried to get CRC and Evans to pricematch On-One for the 5's (at £89.99 for the centerlock hub versions) but they both declined. A long shot but worth a crack.

So did I, but CRC had centrelock rotors at about £15 a pair, so I bought the 5's and new rotors. Still a bargain.

I think On One has Shimano rotors for about the same price, but not sure if they have any of the wheels left.

How about Mavic Crossride 2009 for £129?

I bought a set, they are old stock so had a couple of scratches, but they will get scratched anyway.

At the time they had 6-bolt and centre-lock available, but check.

My mate just got some red metal 10s.
He is well impressed for the cash. He's had no issues with them and they survived a battering in Wales last weekend, which is more than can be said for my Archs (but I did smash my derailleur into the spokes!).
