frameset evaluation

I am looking to sell my 4 year old litespeed siena frameset/complete bike. It is in very good condition and if sold complete would have Mavic kysrium Se SL wheels left on it and full Ultegra 52/39. Does anyone have a realistic idea for a price on it ? Would I be better off selling complete or break it up ? Never sold a bike on before, need to pop my selling cherry.
I don't want to stick it in the classifieds or on Flea-bay for too little or too uch as I want to get a Planet X team guru bike for racing this summer, just want a fair price as it is a cracking bike, just want something different to race on.
Any ideas welcome, feel free to take the pi55 as well.
Cheers.

Put it on eBay at 99p and no reserve and you will establish its market price by the end of the auction. Don't panic about it going too cheap as the bike market on eBay is strong for sellers.
I have sold lots of bikes on there in the last couple of years and invariably fetched more at auction than I would have done had I set a fixed price (which costs more to list as well I think).
You can also search the completed listings for your bike to see previous sales. Ti bikes seem to be in vogue at the moment and prices are strong. Your bike has good spec/wheels too.0 -
Put it in the Classifieds here for a reasonable price ie, 2/3 of the price for a similar bike new.
Then if it is not selling reduce the price closer to 1/2 new price.
It costs nothing and someone may be looking for that very thingHe is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0 -
^^^^ You'll fetch more money on eBay than on here (even after taking the fees into account)0

I've sold quite a few things on ebay with a low starting price and no reserve. I've also tracked the bids at various times and have noticed that in the last 24 hours prices usually (in my observations) double. You need a good number of watchers (10+) but the doubling has held true for bikes (2), guitars (3), a D-SLR camera and a jukebox. I think the key is to write a clear description of the item, avoid spelling mistakes, add some clear photos and end the auction at a sensible time, I end all mine at 9pm.

Agree wholeheartedly - I usually choose Sunday evenings between 8 & 9 pm. Bikes on a 99p start often attract 100+ watchers (think I once had 200+ on a nice Bianchi carbon at one stage). All hoping to pick up a bargain but the reality is that prices are strong for secondhand bikes on eBay at the moment (and have been for some time) and as the previous poster says the action is often all late on in the timing.
I put a bike on recently at £825 Buy It Now or Best Offer - knowing full well that the £825 was over the top but giving people the chance to think that they had got a bargain at £650 (which I would have accepted). No offers were forthcoming at any figure - even from the idiots who put £10. I then relisted at 99p and no reserve and it fetched £755, which was considerably beyond what I was hoping for even with fees.0
