Hi guys

I have a 2009 Genesis Day 03 http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/ ... -07-20455/ I commute to work on. It's super quick, a great ride but offers nowhere to attach luggage or proper mudguards.

I'm basically after something light and fast that I can carry some gear on. I have bar-ends which I use most of the time so perhaps a bike with drop bars would suit me better?

Any suggestions very welcome!

or perhaps a Carradice saddle bag system would be better suited for smaller loads and better aero:

    Hi Pete

Thanks for the suggestions. I had considered something like this before but I was very wary of the extra weight on the frame (especially with all of the carbon). I'm already pretty heavy (93kg) and the bike is a tight fit for me. Do you think this is an unfounded concern? I guess it depends on how much weight I load it up with... ?

    cheers, Lewis

Its one of those questions you'd have to ask Genesis.

Personally I'm not afraid to load up but I come in around 76kg. Guess it depends if you just need to carry a shirt and a few basics or more kit/weekly shop.

As for bikes, I hear good things about the Tifosi CK7 audax. Also try looking at Cyclo Cross bikes, should have clearance for guards and rack mounts.

Kinesis TK2 get a good rep around these parts. It comes with the clearance and eyelets for commuting.
What an earth were the Genesis designers thinking, making a lovely fast commuter bike with no commuting features.
