105 5700 shifter cable installation
Evening all
Just a quick question:
The 5700 has two points where you can install the gear cable - at the base and by removing a side plate. They both exit next to each other in the same cable guide at the top of the shifter
Does anyone know if there is there any difference at all to lever operation or feel dependant on which entry point you use?
There is nothing in the destructions that come with the shifters to suggest either way, so I was just wondering before I put the cables in.
Many thanks and kind regards

You dont have to remove anything, see here,
http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/SI/SI_6TH0A/SI-6TH0A-002-ENG_v1_m56577569830702880.pdf
If that is no use then youtube is your friend too.

Thanks this document really helped the instructions that came with the levers didn't include all this extra detail. The brake cables were east they just threaded through the front with the brake lever closed. I also got mislead by the side plate needing removing now I know this is only for servicing the STI's.0
