just bought a Society Xeno 100mm fork for my dirt/play/4x bike to replace the 120mm bomber I had on there, and having compared the two forks side by side they are the same length. Why is this? shouldn't the Xeno be 2cm shorter?

The crown to axle height can vary - it is not just the travel that dictates length. Look at crown depth, exposed stanchion, etc.0

travel has little to do with axle to crown height.
you should have checked the specs before buying if you wanted a fork with a lower AC height."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I'm not too bothered just curious why the sliders appear to be the same length on different travel forks0

They are not always - only on really long travel forks do they get longer so the stanchions can overlap.0

yeah actually that's what I meant, the stanchions look the same length :?0
