Alternatives to Swinley Forest
Was planning to go to Swinley this friday but with fires guess its best not to!
Could anyone recomend any alternatives?
Only have about 6 months experience of Mountain Biking and my best trails are Stickler , Seagul Run , Tank Traps and Labyrinth.
I have tryed some of the downhill i.e. Babymaker and Dear Stalker but am not at the stage to attack those trails to fast.
Tryed Surrey Hills but spent much of the time climbing hills as didn't know where the best singletrack was apart from 'Barry Knows best'
Heard of Croft trail at swindon but don't know how that compares.
Anyhelp would be great

Someone else thought of the same question given the fires ...
Any good trails near Swinley
Check out the London Calling thread though, especially for Surrey Hills. Loads of us around who ride it and can show you the trails. Typical Sunday Warrior types, any ability, having a laugh, etc.
The climbs do suck, but if you do it often they are much easier and you get quite fit. Once up any of the hills there's loads of singletrack about, though the one with BKB on is not the best as there's relatively little up there. You can also pop into the bike shop in Peaslake and they'll point you in the direction of good trails, and try to sell you a map. Helpful people there.0
