I've bent my current one and tried to bend it back. I managed to get it perfect and othernight it's gone back to it's benmt state. I cba to fiddle with it anymore. I bought one from Halfords which is meant to fit all Carreras but it just doesn't fit and sit properly, flush. It's fine where it sits in the frame near the bolt holding it into the frame but at the other end it just doesn't sit flush. The one that came off my bike has got a H on the back but the replacement which is meant to fit has got a J on the back. What do I do, make them take one off a display model?

Or just buy an H hanger from somewhere else and ask for your money back. They are pretty common.I don't do smileys.

But then the one I got from hellfrauds was £8 but elsewhere they at least £3 more expensive and I need it for saturday.0

I took mine back and the guy fitted it to the display Fury and told me that it not sitting flush was normal. Asked for my money back and he decided to give me the proper fitting one off the display Fury. Why Halfords don't just stock the factory ones is beyond me.
Where have you found them for £11? The cheapest one I saw was £18.0 -

chedabob- It was your thread that made me realise that i'm not the only person who has had this problem. thanks0 -
Well, I went into halfords just now and told them about the hanger not fitting and politely asked if he could take one off the display model because I needed it for saturday but to no avail. I also tried to buy some disc brake cleaner but lo behold I couldn't buy it because you need to be over 18. If I was going to sniff something t wouldn't be the f*cking expensive stuff! What a pointless trip. I then thought that my LBS which is on the way back from hellfrauds might have something as it's a Kona hanger, Type H, but they shut early because the guy that runs it was going out for a meal. I'm not really complaining about that, the guy's sound and treats me well. Bike shop owners also have lives afterall.
I've just realised that it doesn't matter as much because I can't go out for a ride on saturday afterall. I'll order a couple of hangers online and some disc brake cleaner then. Hellfrauds could have ordered a hanger but tbh I just don't want to deal with the sheepscunts (crudcather thing) anymore. They don't even stock a hanger for their own bloody bike ffs!0 -
I bought a replacement for mine and it was the same, didn't sit flush when it was held up but when it was all bolted together it pulled back inline and sits flush. I've had the current one fitted for over 300km of xc and trail centre riding with no problems.GT Force Carbon Expert

It still isn't right when bolted up and there's no point point forcing it in when you can get the correct hanger.0

Even better. I've just had a scout around on ebay for a hanger. £6 posted for a hanger (hellfrauds £8.) ), £5.25 for disc brake cleaner (hellfrauds £7) and £9 for an emergency mech hanger that can be used on any bike for something to get you home.
The emergency hanger is quite a good idea really.

Perfect, cheaper than hellfrauds and I don't need to buy anything from them.0 -
Yeh the ones on the shelf don't fit anything! They need a little filing on the top to fit.0

strange, because i've never had a problem with carrera hangers.0
