Replacing my Marzocchi Bombers

Hello All,
Been having a smooch around the net looking for some replacement forks for my Marin east peak 2007 (http://www.thebikelist.co.uk/marin/east-peak-2007). To be honest I find the bombers are pretty good for what I use them for (XC/Trail), but i'm wondering just how much i'd benefit from having much lighter forks.
Dont really want to go much above £250 so was considering the RockShox Recon Gold RL.
Basically... do you think its worth it?

i would still rate the MX over the Recon.
get the MX serviced."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I had a pair of 2006 mx pro's and regret ever getting rid of them - upgraded to a set of the xc 600's in 2009 and flogged the mx's on ebay before realising my mistake!
The Italian made bombers are pretty much fit and forget. Its unfortunate they've gone down hill in recent years.
So.....although I have no experience of the recons, I'd say keep the bombers!
Don't forget, you get a lot less for your money now then you did a few years ago.0 -
If you could stretch the budget to a reba you'd see a more significant advantage especially in weight. maybe save up a bit longer?- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0

The Marzocchi's are still in pretty good condition as they were barely used before I got the bike (which was pretty recently).
Think i'll hold onto them for a while then. Just dont like the thought of having enrty level forks! but if they do the job then.....
cheers for your replys!0 -
I'm in the same boat. I have some 2004 MX Bombers on my HT and they have been faultless in 7 years but the bike weighs 3lb more than my full susser so I've been looking to shed a few pounds from the fork and wheels0
