joplin 4 seat post dropping

hi ive had my joplin 4 remote seat post for approx 1 year
just yesterday it has started to drop of its own accord it returns to original setting when pushed but then when i hit a root or bump the post then drops again
it made for a slightly frustating day
any ideas would be most welcome as i fancy putting it onto a new bike because its a great bit of kit
