Going to service fork this weekend hopefully as i been putting it for too long and the oils are finally in stock, horay....

Question though, my fork is tora 302 so isnt top range, and want to check that i have my shopping list correct and not wrong.

For oils i going to use:
Rock Oil SVI Suspension Fluid

but i heard red rum is also needed(MTBUK), though i thought red rum is 15W so cant see why id need it?(im sure i can use rock oil on sanctions as you would use red rum to clean)

Then for grease im rather confused as people have told me that i should get
Slick Honey Fork Grease,

But i also heard that this stuff is good
Stendec Easy Glide
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=3150

Given that the slick honey will cost £10 including postage apox while other £9 but get bigger tub....

What would you buy? (i tried TF tuned but their price for postage is a rip of tbh)

I am sure the rock oil you have found will work just fine. I use this Stendec oil, 5wt and 15wt, on my Toras, 2010 SL's (which are basically a 302 I think).

I use some of the the left over 15wt to regularly clean/lube the stanchions/seals which works a treat.

I changed the spring in my toras and used standard bike grease with Teflon from Halfords which I had laying around already.

I have since purchased this weldtite grease which I would use if re-greasing the spring:

Everything works a treat. I wouldn't waste money on fancy grease or red rum - IMHO not required.

^^ thanks for heads up, though i think il stick to rock oil as TF tuned use it so it must be pretty decent 8)

Grease wise it interesting you saying halfords stuff as i heard this before but thn others have said to stay clear of it as it isnt for forks

Given the costs it isnt really clear cut with different views on weather to use bog standard teflon grease like you said or buy fork grease, which you can only use on fork springs+seals then sits on shelf untill the next service

Ofc teflon stuff can be then used on headset/bearings ect so it quite usefull.
