Marzocchi travel mod - worth it?

There is a 140mm to 160mm travel mod available for the '08 fork I have on my bike, as I only use this bike for downhill orientated stuff with jumps and drop offs I'm thinking that it might be a good mod to carry out. Thing is I don't know how successful a mod it is and if it is as straight forward as the instructions suggest, I'm fairly technically minded but have never done fork work before. Plus my fork has been converted to open bath following the damper doing its usual failure.

Bike is a carrera banshee x, the xxx has 160mm forks so I am assuming the frame can take it ok

Anyone done this mod and recommend it? or otherwise?

Cheers.

i would not on that frame.

have a read of the Z1 travel change in the Tech links above. if it is anything like that it is easy.

Cheers. What's your reservation with the frame? The xxx had rockshox 318 160mm and is the same frame (isn't it?)

EDIT: It's the '08 frame not the latest '09, if that makes any difference.
