Little scrotes need throttling, probably just get a slap on the wrist.

hopefully the rain will help, as swinley I like. as it's.
a) 30mins away
b) has coffee + cafe on site plus loo's
c) has lots of single track.
yes it's hardly hardcore stuff, but then SE england is hardly known for it's mountains.0 -
I don't know. There's some stuff that can be dealt with in a hardcore way. Only little bits here and there, but certainly enough to require frequent medical attention. Thankfully there's an A&E very close by (I'm certainly thankful anyway! )0

well clearly one can hurt one self sitting at home on the sofa, and while I'm no jumper etc, even a modest speeds trees or even just the ground will hurt! But i'd still not call Swinley hardcore, fun yes. But not hardcore.0 -

Though I'm told in my case it was a largish drop. I have no memory of it though. Could have been a tiny root0 -
Swinley Forest apparently opening tonight. Would ring before travelling if planning on going though - I turned up at the Lookout yesterday as Bracknell Forest Council were stating "Lookout Centre open and restricted access to forest". Yes, very restricted - shut!!0

nearly screwed up a drop off last time at swinley didn't get weight back soon enough, luckily the age old trick of hold on and hope for the best worked, ie the bike sorted it all out!0 -
I took a look last night and it was fine. The damage seems pretty limited to be honest - mostly braken and smaller branches. So some areas are blackened but not devastated.
None of the trails I went on were affected at all - Seagull, Tank Trap, Stickler0 -
Nozza, does that mean Swinleys 'officially' open again?

From GorrickThe good news is that the fires are out and NO MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS in Crowthorne Wood or Swinley Forest have been affected. However due to the massive clear up operation now going on, both Crowthorne Wood and Swinley are STILL CLOSED. There are literally miles of hoses still running through them to the Royal Military Academy and Swinley reservoirs, but it is hoped that they will be removed by the weekend. A lot of clearing work has been done and new fire breaks have been created, which is why the A3095 remained shut during the early part of this week - but the road has now reopened.
We will keep you advised as to when Swinley will re-open fully.0 -

Probably not but seems to make little difference in the evenings. There is nobody about other than runners and bikers. It's not impeding the work nor risking anyone's safety. So I'm comfortable riding there.0 -
Woods are officially open. I rang Lookout yesterday and checked before heading over. Also spoke to a couple of Rangers after a chap came off near Labyrinth area and they had no issue with people riding the trails. Hope the chap that came off is OK and wasn't too serious...0
