I'm looking for a wheelset - 700c - for the hybrid to commute on, can anyone point me in the direction of a good buy at the moment ?
Have see a couple on Ebay, Pro Lite Como wheels and Miche Mach1 road wheels, are either of these pretty good ?

I remember a few years ago there was an Ebay seller that offered less than great service but changed their name , are they still about ? Can't remember what they are called though !!

Thanks.

Dave Hinde is probably the one you're thinking of- fastpartsforbikes was his last user name

I'd go to Merlin or Ribble to be honest- or Planet X.

You won't get a great wheelset new for £100 so I'd look for private sales on ebay also

You may not get a "great" wheelset for £100 but you can get a very good set for less than that.

As suggested already go to Merlin. Check out the Shimano R500's they are super strong and for that price they look quite nice. If you join Merlin's VIP club (free) you will get 10% discount.

A very good commuting wheelset for £67.46 delivered sounds pretty good to me.

By the way I use these for commuting along some terrible roads but they have stayed true despite some big hits so I fully recommend them for commuting.
  • The Pro-Lite Comos are actually great wheels for the money. They're well built, tough as nails and will last almost indefinitely with any care at all.
They're on Ebay for 99 quid or so.. and are indeed a real bargain..

Paid £87.49 for mine on Ebay, brand new, came today and they are cosmetically gorgeous. Not had a chance to get out on them yet, so can't comment on performance.

    Thanks guys
I've run Shimano WH550 wheels in the past and they were fine , although I did get bother with the cup and cone bearings - they seemed to constantly need adjusted, I'd ragther go with the replaceable sealed bearings.

The Fulcrum 7s caught my eye on that site, think , replaceable bearings ...

Any idea if the Pro Lite Comos have replaceable bearings or are they cup and cone ?

Replaceable as far as my knowledge understands it.
