My Evil Sovereign

Evil Sovereign i built up fom scratch after having my specialized hardrock stolen by some scumbag. I thought i might as well upgrade while i'm at it and what bertter way to get to know your lbc than to get them to fit all the tricky bits I've spent roughly £2400 on it and it's taken about 6 months to build. it's pretty much everything i could want from a bike, absolutely flies down hills and aint bad on the way back up even with a 150mm fork

Outstanding bike mate! Pretty much a dream build for me that! Quite the upgrade from a hardrock0

Blimey, just a slight upgrade then
I'd swap those peaty grips, either for red grips with white rings, or white grips with red rings. Problem with white grips is that they always end up brown after 10 mins riding.
I'd have a dropper post too, but that's just me. They're expensive and not to everyones taste.0 -

Yeah i thought about a dropper post, but could'nt really justify spending £200 on a seatpost , plus i heard a lot of them can develop a bit of play in them, so i just thought i'd go for a tried and tested thomson.
The grips are'nt peaty's there troy lee' odi's, the peaty's have a blue ring on one end, but yeah there a nightmare when everything else just wipes clean and you have these bloody grubby brown grips that you can't do much about, not exactly cheap to replace either. was thinking of getting some red raceface good n evil grips when these ones have worn, i had them on my old spesh and they were every bit as good as the troy lee's nice and fat too0 -
I scrubbed my white yetis with bleach. Came up a treat. Granted you have to do it pretty much after every ride..0

damn i do like those frames, i think one of those would complete my dream fleet of bikes0
-
yeah i started trying to clean them with muc off degreaser which worked, but woulda been damn expensive to clean them all the time like that, might give them a try with the bleach or i might just stop being a nancy and leave them brown0

It does get annoying! That's why I now have a set of black superstar grips!0

Lovely bike, would love one!!!!! white grips are a bitch though!!!0

Another man with great taste in bikes and a similar spec to my Sovereign. They really do handle nicely and make a good all rounder. Not sure on the white grips unless you're going to cover them in cling film to keep them clean. Drop the big ring for bash ring instead unless you plan on doing lots of long dull rides.
I've fitted a Reverb dropper seatpost and they are great. Dropper seatposts are the way forward and after spending £2500 another couple of hundred will make it even better.0 -

by later on in the year i could technically do it, and replace my ageing maxlight, but uni calls more than another new bike for now plans are a foot to give the maxlight a decent refresh before i go, as it'll be my main bike until i get a house0 -
Thanks guys for all the bike praise, am seriously thinking about off'ing the thomson and upgrading to a dropper (you may have twisted my arm craig)0

great looking bike and just putting one together myself. Only problem is im not sure what size frame to get. what size frame is yours and how tall are you? im 5,11 so not sure wether to go for a medium or a large.
any help would be appreciated as im ready to buy!!!0 -
One word.....awesome
Was toying with getting one myself in white and doing a white black and green theme after my last frame cracked but settled on a Blue Pig in the end....I powder coated that white instead.....!
And agree with others about the dropper post.....def worth every penny0
