Which wheels to upgrade trance x2 2011

Hi, thinking of up grading the stock Giant P-XC2 wheels on my 2011 trance X2 for lighter & better options.
Rear hub is stock Shimano and front I beleive is Giant.
What would you recommend? Why? And how much should I be looking to spend??
Also meant to add mainly ride Xc trails in peak district and Cannock Chase trail centre.
Any suggestions??
