Went there on Friday for some alternate entertainment instead of the royal wedding and i loved it. Absolut haven with a nice (although dear) cafe and an awesome black section. I have to hit the realisatio that i dont have a car and need to get there on the train from Manchester. Is this feasable?

Mabie forest. Maybe one of the greatest places to ride.

Just go onto google maps and do that thing that makes train stations visible... and you'll see the scale of your problem - which is not insurmountable...

Your best bet is a train to wrexham and then ride to llandegla... But that'll take you a few hours and be a pain since you'll need to book the bike onto the trains... it's not straightforward!

    nearest are wrexham or ruabon.

you can ride up from wxm in an hour or so on the backroads, i see a fair few heading straight up the main road though (unpleasant).

there are good (mainly) off-road trails from wxm and ruabon station to llandegla but unless you know the area ......allow an extra 3 hours (2 up 1 down)

Wrexham. Takes about 50 minutes there, 25 minutes back as it's a 50mph hill with no traffic lights and you can slipstream the cars if you dare.

You cut out the steep hill on the way there.

I am afraid you missed the last train to Ruthin by 49 years it closed in 1962
