    I've been convinced for ages that he was killed years ago back in the original caves, but just that the Americans either couldn't prove it or didn't want him a martyr, so they didn't say he's dead and allow the fake tapes to be put out so they can keep tabs on the lot.

    I reckon someone's discovered provable truth that he was killed back then, so they've silenced this person and claimed they've killed Bin Laden then conveniently bury him at sea as they "didn't have time to negotiate a land burial" (!)

    Oh well, makes my "Bin Laden wanted dead or alive" coffee mug I got in the US back in 2001 less of a mockery.

    True, but I'd bet he was killed through incompetence when they were trying to catch him alive, or thinking they were bombing someone else. Or he just died of natural causes. Maybe he choked on his beard :D
