New bike coming next week, I've been having some issues with my
Knees mainly my right knee. Have tried moving cleats about a bit but did a hilly 65 miles and it's taken a good couple of days to recover...

I'm in London, near sigma, but have heard about cyclefit and others, i wanted to know the most comprehensive and generally most regarded fit out there?

I love riding but can't abide the knee pain....

The Bike Whisperer always has good reports on here. Not far from you, it's in Ealing.

Travel outside the m25 and visit Rock n Road in Southampton, The guys that brought bike fitting to the uk (despite what the steaming pile of cyclefit london marketing will tell you)

Decent bike shops have been fitting people to bikes for many, many years. This new 'bike fit' service is something that experienced coaches, shop owners, cyclists have been doing for years.

Where did they bring bike fitting to the UK from?!n :D

Serotta ultimately developed the first holistic fitting methodology that is based solely on each individual subject. One cyclist at a time.

Serrotta, perhaps you've heard of them? :?: http://www.serotta.com/sizing-fit/personal-fit-system.html

Adrian Timmis at www.cadencesport.co.uk gets my vote.

Cheaper than most yet includes moulded footbeds which, as I have said many times, are a revelation. He also found a leg length discrepancy which has been corrected through cleat shims, knee tracking has been corrected through angled shims also.

The fit is dynamic and completely personal, you get about 3hrs with him. It's also nice talking to an ex-pro of the highest level :)

I had niggles and pains in my knees, hip and shoulder before, they have now gone and my power is higher...

+1 for Adrian @ CadenceSport. I had to take a day off work and hire a car to get there, but it was worth it! Fitting takes place in his home and there's lots of cool mementos from his pro days: the 1984 Olympic tracksuit hanging on the back of the door, the corgi model of the Z-Peugeot team car on the window sill... :)

The fitting is £100, but this includes custom-moulded footbeds which are alone worth £50. I thought it such good value I didn't mend spending a bit extra on travel costs. Did an 85-mile ride shortly after the fitting and couldn't believe the difference: no more numb hands, no feet hot-spots, not even any saddle sores despite not using chamois cream and not having ridden my road bike for a several months.

+1 for Adrian from me also as it has sorted out my lower back & neck pain. The fit has meant I now spend 80% of my time in the drops rather than less than 10% & my average commuting speed is up by around 10% - thoroughly worth every penny! The footbeds that you get as part of the fit are superb so the numbness I used to get in my right foot has also disappeared. Adrian also sorted me out with a replacement saddle at a discount to RRP as the original had started to lose its ability to support after less than a year. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Sounds great. Whereabouts is he based? I couldn't find a location on the website.

From the website - Adrian is based in the Midlands, near Burton on Trent, just off the A38.

    Well worth the trip down!

Put it this way, when I move to France I'll still be using him to do my bike fits...

And another +1 for Adrian. I went to see him yesterday as a) he's not far away; and b) NapD's fantastic sales pitch on various threads
I certainly feel I got my money's worth as the time there (2 and a half hours for me) was well spent with Adrian checking every possible measurement for the way I ride and the main problem I had with what I thought was a leg length discrepancy turned out to be a misaligned pelvis, which he has corrected with stack and angled shims. Along with the footbeds and other adjustments to hood position and bar height / stem length it's a great service for the cost. Nice bloke too!

Dont want to hijack this thread, but quick question:

My bike. Im super comfortable on it, I have no problems after riding it and feels great.

In your opinions, would a proper fit be worth it just in case I could be getting more out of it?

Im leaning towards a no, but interested to know what you think

I would say it would be worth it. Adrian can spot things you never even thought about. If your comfortable now then I would say you would be even more super comfortable and you will probably put out more power.

The biggest thing I found with my fit was the efficiency. It feels easier to pedal harder.

Anyone done the fitting at Bespoke Cycling? http://www.bespokecycling.com/custom/process.php sounds pretty comprehensive and I'm considering a Parlee anyway so would be good to seem them in the flesh. It's a long way to go though and I can get a Retul fit locally - would still be good to know if anyone's done one at Bespoke though
