Foot pain. Help?

Hello,

I've recently started to get quite severe pain in the front are of my feet when cycling. It started a week ago with my right foot after riding 18 miles I could hardly walk. It did go away after I rested my foot for a day or so. I went out today and after 4 miles both my feet started to ache so I rode home not wishing to suffer the same pain as before.

I'm using Shimano M520 SPD pedals, Bontrager SSR shoes (not my choice a Christmas present which I feel I should use)!

I'm going to try metatarsal support insoles (I have quite flat feet) and maybe move my cleats back, before I do something drastic like buy new pedals and shoes.

Does anyone else have experience of this and what helped?
Where would you be if you fell down a hole?.. Stuck down a hole... in the fog... Stuck down a hole, in the fog, at night... WITH AN OWL!

I put insoles in the shoes and adjusted the cleats it has worked for me give it a go before you pay out for new shoes cleats and pedals
