Disc brake bolts

Firstly hello - I'm new to the forum but have been into Mountain Biking for a while.
Just a quick question to start with:
I'm looking to replace my old, slightly corroded disc brake bolts with some new shiney st/st items - are the originals high tensile or anything special? - they don't have any markings to indicate if they are...
I know you can get them in Al and Ti but it's just that I have the st/st ones lying around.
