So, are my lefty bearings farked

Posted a few days ago asking how to check, clean and regrease my lefty wheel bearings. Was kindly informed how to and have done so. Couldn't really visually check cos even after the seal was off you can't actually see the ball bearings, they seem to be contained in some sort of affair beneath the rubber cover. There are 2 bearings, one on each side of the hub. the slightly smaller one feels like it runs smooth and silent. The larger one, feels "gritty" and almost certainly is the culprit for making the grinding noise.

No riding problem now so much but I guess it is on the way out...... should I replace? 1 or the both?
