Shimano Dura Ace 7900 C24 Wheels - issues !!

i have a pair of these wheels , fantastic ride etc however some problems recently.
after less than 500 miles use the rear has developed a considerable amount of play , when you grab the rear tyre and move side to side it feel as though the skewers are very loose.
i returned the wheel to my LBS and having had the rear wheel completely rebuilt by a shimano specialist the play is not the cones. apparently its the axle.
the wheel is on its way to Madison but wondered whether anyone has experienced any problems with these new wheels ??
