If I'd played the guitar since I started learning I'd have been playing for 10 years now. But.... I sound like I've been playing for negative 2 years atm. So, I'm trying to learn a song a week to get those hard fingers back My current repotoire includes CSN Lay Me Down and Fleetwood Mac Landslide.
This weeks song; RHCP She Looks To Me.
What you learning atm?

Talking to or counting?
My guitar learning has been on halt for nearly a couple of months now, since I've done something to two of the fingers on my left hand. I'm really starting to think I broke them.
Anyway, since I did whatever it was I did, I can't comfortably fret anything on the guitar. Which is gutting, since I was actually starting to get the hang of fingerpicking "time of your life" by Greenday.0 -
i like the idea of learning an instrument but i dont have the patience even though i probably have plenty of time, plus, im not much for the arty type of pass times.0

Why not take up something like a djembe drum, Sheeps? You just hit it, and if needed, stroke your chin and pretend to be all deep and hippyish. It's good for a laugh sometimes.
Hmm, ona related note, I get to play drums next week0 -

I'm having problems on the other hand after getting y finger caught in a spinning rotor  TBF i hadn't picked up my guitar in months before but am getting the ith to pick it up and form a new band. Yet this is my old band jamming in our room http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZ-khIstAEI (yep the quality is crap etc).
I'll be mostly be playing Rancid, Social Distotion, Rise Against etc etc when back to full fitnessWhat if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? What if everything you've ever wanted cost you everything you've ever achieved? Would you still go there?0 -

Ahem, talking of home recording... I'm just going to big up my mate Alex Moller, and drop this link in here...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwroD7bpsNg
The guy's awesome. He records these videos himself in Gai Toms' "Sbensh" studio as a kind of demo of his drumming.
(for the record, I'm not convinced by the weird colourisation effects he's done on this particular one)0 -
I always play my instrument when have spare time.0

The guy certainly knows how to hit the skins, i suck on drums although i can lay One - Metallica so i guess that counts as something
Anyway if you want home recording check out my mate Rob Yates http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNiMcHJZZqQ I was best mates with him at primary school and piano lessons but he moved away as his mum and dad were both music teachers in schools. He's been playing since he was 5 and is 30 nowWhat if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? although i can lay One
Funnily enough, I am just about to do exactly that.0 -
Muttly1981, that's really nice, I'm definitely liking it, but I don't see anything particularly outstanding. Very good work though.0

Music isn't about kicking people's arses though, is it? Just enjoy it.0

that is remarkably close to hippy talk, you'll be singing with your eyes shut next0 -
In my defence, I do spend an inordinate amount of time with musicians. Curiously for a Welshman though, I cannot sing for shite.0

You've probably seen this before but this has to be the most entertaining drum video on youtube (definitely not the best from a playing perspective).0 -
