Quantocks route suggestions please!

off there for a week at the end of the month. Need some suggestions for a half day and a full day ride please. will be staying in nether stowey so will need to factor in riding to routes (other half has got the car!). any tyre advice also welcome! thanks in advance 8)

if you imagine the quantocks as one long ridge with a good number of coombes off each side then you cant go wrong. the whole ridge one end to the other can be done at a good pace in 1 hr, coombes of note are smiths, ladys, holford, hodders,weacombe, personally the best coombes are on the 'stowey' side of the ridge, although there are some good 'uns on the taunton side too.
really need a map to plan your route there if you want to get the best of a days ride, use the names ive given you and do a 'join the dots

when are you thinking of going? - may be able to meet up if you wanted to squeeze as many of the best bits into a day as possible?

Sorry to hijack a thread, but I noticed you ride the quantocks jonny. I'm just getting back into riding and wouldn't mind finding a few people to ride with over there. How often do you go up there?
