Thinking of getting a mtb and have a budget £1k ish

Decided on hard tail - and thats about as far as I can get.

Would like something that is good for xc and trails.. Also not keen on big names but I don't mind Specialized ( have a Spec S-Works Transition for Ironman racing but thats a different story)

current faves are

Whyte 809 ( or a 19 Trail on fleabay )
Voodoo Wanga
Boardman Pro ( recommend by a friend ) not sure I could ever shop at Halfords
Ragley Blue Pig - found one on pinkbike for 750

any others to consider ? any experience of the above bikes

yours hopefully

Steve

For me it would be the Boardman...although having had one in the past, I guess I would say that.

The only thing I could fault was the tyres (which are easily swapped) but overall fantastic value for money.

On One Carbon whippet SLX - £999
    On One 456 Trail - £1099
Personally I would go for the 456 trail, I like steel frames more than carbon or aluminium
