Quick Question:
Is it ok to use a cheap TT BIKE AS A WINTER BIKE.I would use the bullhorns as hoods. It's because I would like a cheap TT bike and a Winter bike, it's one or the other, but I'm thinking why can't they be the same thing.

Yes it is okay, you won't be sent to Guantanamo or owt. Some might find it a bit uncomfortable.

    Sure why not.

Can fit some race blades, in winter, and some harder wearing wheels and tyres. If you're comfortable on it then who's going to stop you?

yeah can work. Dont go too close with your wheel clearances though so you can fit wider tyres and full mudguards make a winter that much more bearable.

Of course you could, just can't get my head around why you'd want to!!!!

Just get a decent winter bike and chuck some TT bars on it when need be, thats the way I'd do it.

Do you already have a nice summer bike? If so, I'm not sure how this TT/winter cross-breed will benefit you. If it is a proper TT bike it won't be cheap and will be pretty impractical to ride in the winter (low front end, small frame clearances etc, my TT bike is no fun to ride when not in the aero position). If you just get a cheaper road bike and fit some TT bars etc then it will probably be slower than your summer bike in TTs.

I'd save yourself a lot of hassle and just look for a decent second-hand winter OR TT bike then think about the other one at a later date. TT bikes aren't cheap, so I'd consider just taking your time and finding a good buy for your winter bike, then save for a TT bike in future.
