I thought Van Nicholas where made in Holand?

Check out the "made in china" sticker on the BB on this ebay listing.

i thought that too until a few days ago when i cleaned my mistral and found one of these stickers on the BB! I was going to email VN about it but as the bike came from Fat Birds and i have registered the purchase and serial number with VN i thought there would be no point. I may follow this up now though unless someone else can shed some light on this?

Just done a google on your query...

Look like the company may be based in Holland but the frames are made in China..

Looks like it to me, the drop outs on the VN web site does not look the same. I also thought the badge on he front is embossed in to the frame. The one on ebay looks stuck on

The drop outs look the same as on my Mistral. I will email VN and ask them about this.

Paul Smith works in Cooridori in epsom and lets just say he knows a fair bit about the VN brand.

I emailed VN at about 18.00 and Jan (the founder of VN) emailed me back! He confirmed that the frames are made in China. This may not be what i wanted to hear but i am pleased with the way in which my question has been responded to.

Not sure what the big deal is - I thought it was common knowledge that the frames are chinese-made. The bikes are only assembled in Holland....

No big deal really but VN appear to promote that fact that the bikes are made in Holland and that the owners father oversees production on all VN bikes. It depends how literally you take it i guess but when i bought one i certainly thought the bike was made in Holland.
