charge duster - my first build

The story goes like this:
Bought this bike in 1998. Was totally stoked. It still rides well, I'm still in love with it. If i remember well, it's a genesis (or so the stickers said).
Rediscovered it about two years ago, started cross-country-ing again, moved to Belgium. Decided it's time for a new bike, the current one being transformed into a commuter bike.
So after researching quite a while, I decided on a Charge Duster frame and found this beauty via ebay:

Now it's time to get the rest of the parts together I'd like it to be reliable, no-nonsense, not too expensive, robust.
After spending some time on this forum here, I think I'd go for some hand-built wheels (merlin cycles ok?). slx mix should be good enough (and everyone else has xt anyway , not sure about brakes yet. can use a tora fork from a good friend who has just upgraded, and will see later this year if I'll take a reba or fox or something... this is about it, we'll see how fast this gets completed spring is here, so it shouldn't take too long.
thanks for your comments, much appreciated!
