Front hub bearings noisy

A short while ago I asked advice on my slightly noisy front hub on my lefty fork. Kind of a light grinding noise. Knackered bearings were suggested. £25 and a bit of work could replace them, but I'm now wondering if they are knackered or just a bit dry and if I could fix rather than spend. There is no play in the wheel at all.

There are 2 bearings, one either side of the hub. Are they sealed? How could I get some lubrication in them? What to use? Lithium grease? Copper grease? (I have these 2!).

Help appreciated

copper grease is an anti seize compound not a lube.

take the hub off look at the bearings, move seal add lube, re fit use.

Takes 15 minutes. Just done both mine after a very muddy winter.

Thanks for your advice but you have to appreciate you are talking to an idiot.

"look at bearings". What am I looking for? Wear? Damage?

"Move seal" is this obvious will it expose the bearings?

    "relube" lithium grease then?

Prise rubber seal out with a small screwdriver -if they are a big mass of rust chuck. If the balls or races look worn, chuck. (Seal is the side, it's the only bit you will be able to remove.)
Otherwise put some grease in, squeeze seal back in, refit bearing, job done.
