new brakes needed...any ideas???

ive currently got xtr disc brakes but im not happy with them just had new pads fitted but the rotor seems to be rubbing on the pads after 1 week!!! which is making hell ofa noise and makes the wheel spin not as it shud....worst comes to the worst ill replace them so any ideas????

    sounds like a bent rotor or a badly set up brake.

    if the rotor is bent it would be abut £20 or so to replace.

    if the brakes are not set up propely it will be a 2 minute job to sort it out

    Let them bed in. Also did you push the pistons back before fitting?

    the reason i needed new pads was i was in the local pines tattering thru some bumpy stuff went for the rear brake and realised that my pads had gone...so yeh my pistons wer pushed in but my lbs shud of sorted that wen i had the new pads, ill leave it a bit see if they bed in....cheers!! :D

    loosen the caliper-mount and mount-frame bolts. Pull the brake lever as hard as poss and keep it pulled in, tighten all bols back up with lever still pulled in.
