chain hanging loose

When i am in the small ring at the front and about the middle of cassette at the back
my chain is hanging too loose as if the chain is to long.
the chain was fitted by local lbs.
I noticed this after cleaning chain could it be stretched?
I have a sram x9 derailluer.

    Sounds like your chain is too long; should be long enough to go over the big ring & the big sprocket plus an inch (2 links) for a hardtail, and enough to compensate for suspension chain growth on a FS.

    Chain stretch is actually due to wear and isn't stretch as such.

    Sorry for the delayed reply.
    got problem sorted, The derailleur was knackered
    I replaced it, now chain is fine :D
