First Proper Ride

Just got back from my first proper ride on my new Trek 1.1, ended up doing just over 30 miles out into the peaks from Sheffield and back
Really great ride, the weather was amazing, the roads were quiet and I feel like I could have done another 15/20 miles.
So what have I learnt...
I NEED a good pair of sunnies, bugs in the eye on a fast decent are not good.
Hills suck, but the feeling when you get to the top more than makes up for it.
I cant wait till I can afford some clipless pedals and shoes, (I'm still using the stock pedals that came on my bike)
Anyway if anyone is interested this is the route I followed

Good work!
You dont actually need a pair of sunnies
What you need are something that you can wear when its cloudy and/or overcast too
I ride most often with clear lenses just to keep the bugs, spray, dust and who knows what out
Decathlon sell them cheaply - or you can of course go down the ££££ route LOL
BTW I was curious enough to look at your route link - but youve set the privacy on that account so we cant see it
Cheers!0
