Just getting ready to go to Cwmcarn now, part way through rebuilding the Edison found my bb is worse than I thought so borrowing my mate's new Boardman FS Team which will certainly be different!
Have been promising him I'd spend some time setting it up properly for him as the monkeys at Halfords haven't exactly shone in this department.
Plus it'll be nice to see through all the magazine hype and ride it on a trail I've ridden loads of times on my beast, so I can give proper real life feedback on what they are like.0 -
Morning homos
Revision today, new gear cable to pop in later, probably clean the bike a bit too, doubt I'll ride anywhere though.

Moooooooring all.
Back to work today I'm afraid. They owe me much bonus for all the time I'm putting in to sort this whole mess out.
andyrm - I stripped down the forks on mine last night and gave them a quick service. They didn't need it, but I was bored and just wanted to see how easy it was.
Easiest. Thing. Ever!
Reckon I'm going to order that damper upgrade tomorrow too. Just going to fire off an email to that fella now.0 -
Morning
To qoute the smiths 'still ill' but got a load of work to do whilst spending enough time with the kids to share their Easter eggs
Nice meal out with the family later, wonder if we could hitch up the trailer for the kids......0 -
Morning Hippies!
Today i'm off for a ride in the Peak's. Cutgate is the flavour of the day, looks like it'll be amazing
A quick trip up to Edinburgh cycles may be in order, i think i've run out of energy drink. Luckily it's only up the road. I should book an eye test this week too hmmmIt takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.
Join us on UK-MTB we won't bite, but bring cake!

Morning from the works bunker!
Just catcing up on freecaster now (on work time) as no PC or laptop at home as the wife has managed to feck yet another laptop
Cycled in this morning, beautiful morning but 13 miles on knobbies was interesting and slower than i would of liked but still did it in 39 mins 8) On the way home i'll be doing a more interesting route back 8)
No headphones and quiet roads, you notice all these niggly noises! Grr..0 -
Ah, morning Maggots...
What a lovely day out. Today I am going to ride the slick shod rigid hardtail, AKA: The Shaker t town. Only a few miles but my legs are still knackered from loading, unloading and carrying a van load of furnishings up a flight of stairs on Saturday. That was hard work indeed.
Also looking forward to the three day week ahead :¬)0 -
Morning all, heading off shortly to the 3rd bbq of the weekend, and i'm starving.
Last night saw me and the wifes brother getting a bit drunk, and talking about things such as the Illuminati and Bilderberg group until 3am. 9am wake up, and i'm officially dead today.0 -

So far all I've done today to eat bacon and egg and laze about.
Need to do chores and finish a job application now

Well I'm back from Cwmcarn! That was interesting....I know I shouldn't try to compare a £900 Boardman to a £3600 Bionicon, but my god what a difference.
Didn't feel anything like as composed, actually frightened myself several times going into stuff at speeds I'm used to, and had to scrub off tons of speed. And what the hell is with the tiller of a stem that Boardman fit? Slowed the steering right down, to the point of causing massive understeer at times. Suspension felt dead too and nowhere near as active as my Edison. Can't help but feel really disappointed, given all the hype they get in the magazines. Oh well, I'll just clean it and give it back and then sort mine out!
But I suppose it's made me appreciate mine more, and reinforces my opinion that reviews are influenced (whatever anyone tries to protest) by the amount of ad bookings. Natural commercial logic really and today backs up my thoughts on this. Now bike cleaning and bbq time!0 -
I have revisioned myself to the point of insanity since about 7 this morning, so that's enough for the day. Just trying to figure out if I've got enough in me to go and sort the gears out on the bike or if I just want to laze around with a decent film on and eat food, I'm starving, completely forgot to have lunch earlier.0

Good to know. Andy recommended it, he has one too and also says it makes a big difference. Hard to ignore for the price really.0 -
Can you please stop talking about Bionicons? My poor beast is injured and out of action till tomorrow!! CWNT - that damper cartridge makes an amazing difference to what is already an incredibly stable bike. Today kind of made me realise just how good they are. Normally I'm right on my mate's wheel on the descents - he rides a Bionicon Tesla - but today I was way off and actually had to slow down as I'd totally overstretched the Boardman. I really hadn't understood just how much difference my bike could make.
Still it was a good day and we saw lots of hot girls coming back through Bristol so that was good. And my local has just reopened. Unrelated but good news nonetheless.0 -

Interested man, things like that are cool to discuss!0 -
Must admit that stuff fascinates me - not necessarily that I believe it, just some of the conspiracy theories are amazing. David Icke is talking in Bristol soon - we're going to go and check out how mad he is and see if he talks about lizards and stuff.0

I didn't ride the commuter today, I opted to go to Cannock instead and did FTD, sadly my Cateye Comp's sensor battery fizzled out, so I couldn't log the ride.
All in a very nice ride with only one minor tumble when the front end washed away on some pebbles. End result = win..0 -
