Looking to go to the lakes for a 2/3 nights in the middle of May. Will be taking car and road bikes plus couple of one man tents,Looking for cheapish camp sites.Lot of the ones coming up on google searches seem expensive at £20-25 a night per tent.Any suggestions anyone?

Turner Hall Farm, Seathwaite in Duddon Valley - smashing site, great pub down road and excellent biking!

http://www.baysbrownfarm.com/, we stayed here last year, v cheap, typical working farm, fantastic views, friendly young(ish) owners, shower/toilet block a bit agricultural/rugged but clean and plentiful hot water, no shop but village about 1/2 mile away and a burger/breakfast van came on site when we were there, we didn't use it but it smelled nice!

I think it was £13.50 per night, large tent, 2 adults, + a 13 and a 7 year old, bargain!
  • Hi. Me and my girlfriend stayed at Low Wray campsite a couple years ago which is a national trust one. Was a really nice site on the edge of a lake and by Wray castle which is worth a look. Here is the website, can't remember prices but was definitely reasonable as we were both students at the time

Nice small site, pub next door and a river running through the site, bery idyllic if you into fishing you can also fish in the river for a small fee.
