Montebello Software - Ascent iPhone App - Not Syncing

Has any forum member downloaded the Ascent app for iPhone from Montebello Software?
I've been happily using the desktop version of ascent for the last few years and having recently acquired an iPhone, I decided to buy the app which is supposed to sync with the desktop application on your Mac.
My problem is that the syncing just doesn't work! I've tried everything that I can think off and made sure that the phone and the desktop settings are correct. the phone sees my Mac laptop and recognises that it has Ascent installed but doesn't sync.
The app also has a track recording function which I've not tried yet as I use my Garmin with it's far better battery life, so I can't comment on that, I just want to know if anyone has managed to get the sync working!
I've posted a query on the forum for the app but the developer is either ignoring it or working on something else and not monitoring the forum.
