Peddle Up!

As a cyclist from the "time before Lycra" I feel that my attitude towards nutrition related to exercise is a bit hit and miss. I always have a decent breakfast before a ride, and take a few energy bars/bananas etc., along but I get that feeling that I should be more structured in my approach. For example, my "recovery nutrition" tends to be whatever's handy, if I feel hungry.
As I'm also a gym regular I could do with getting this sorted out. Can anyone point me towards an idiot's guide so I can start to "do it properly"? Thanks.

I use SiS REGO after my rides.

Chris Carmichael is (was) Lance Armstrong's coach thingy person. His "Time crunched" series v good, this is my next buy. I am not one for supplements or power drinks etc, hoping this will be sensible sports nutrition based on real food & normal people.
