I've got an HP wireless allinone hardwired to the PC and a netbook connected wirelessly. I have my HTC wildfire on the samw wifi network but not managed the print from phone thing yet, maybe it's my lack of knowledge on the matter that is stopping it working.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • the wife has informed me there i an ap for the blackberrys to allow printing wirelssly, so may look into it as she mentioned was for specific printers???
be good to be able to do such though,

I've had three wireless printers in the last year, my Epsom broke and they wouldn't repair it as I was using a ciss ink system, I then had a hp all in one that kept uninstalling itself and blocking the ink cartidge chips, even though the cartidges were still half full

I now have a brother dcp515 which has been no trouble at all, it prints from my iPhone, has no chips on the cartridges and I get 12 assorted xl size cartridges from eBay for 13 notes posted. As my other half is a teacher we drink ink with her work and my map and tshirt printing, but have only had to change the carts once in 3 months

I would reccomend a hp officejet pro 8500. A bit big and bulky and expensive, but it prints thousands of pages (around 20,00 b&w iirc) to a cartridge, the cartridges are not too expensive and it prints and scans in excellent quality. Other HP ones I have used have been similarly good.

My mate bought a lexmark one(the one that came second in the gadget show test iirc) and asked me to set it up as he is not very good with computers. It took HOURS to get the thing working, and it worked for a few weeks, before it refused to connect to the wireless network. Another few hours later, and it seems to be working again, but it took far longer to set up than a HP and the print quality seems to be worse.

what I would say is that the print quality is just a tiny tiny bit grainier with the brother than other printers I've used, but only when you look really really closely, in general though its been an absolutely brilliant printer, The last 3 (had 2 of the same Hp ones after Hp replaced the first one that broke) have been such a faff and a pain, this has been troble free, it works quickly on the wireless and has proper press buttons that work, not smart touchscreen buttons with hidden menus.

I've just bought a HP Wireless one and its the bomb! There are only laptops in my house, so having to plug a printer in was a right ball ache. Wireless printing is the future!

I haven't really looked at printing from my phone, although having a Windows Phone I doubt there is an app available yet. I know on the slightly higher up HP models you can email documents directly to the printer which could come in pretty handy.

I steered away from the Lexmark models as from previous experience, and has been mentioned here, they are a nightmare to install and get working continously, and they seem to cost the earth to run.

With the HP, you just switch it on, it takes about 10-15 seconds to connect to the network and your ready to print. sorted! All our laptops are running Win 7 SP1 and I've not run into any issues yet.
