Hi Guys,
Looking forward to a longlife on BikeRadar.com
I am a complete NOOB to all this, ever since being about 13 all I ever wanted was a GT mountain bike, so being a sucker I bought one 2 weeks ago to help shed the weight at the grand old age of 30!
I've bought the GT Avalanche 2.0 2011 model, LOVE IT, i feel like a big kid again...
My problem is my rear disc break, I feel like I've lost power in it, day before I was slamming on perfect stops, long skids (not intentional, just coming to track ends etc... Trannspennine trail in Lymm) etc... but today, HIGH squeak and hardly any power.
I had used a bit of WD40 on the rear yesterday by accident (old fashioned) which a Bike Pro guy said was a big NO NO, I've took the rear wheel off and wiped the disc with a lint free cloth and rubbed a clean cloth inbetween the pads to clean them, and the squeek has gone completely, but they still feel powerless...
Is there a problem? is it my weight? please help!!
Cheers...

fouled pads wont return to their best. its a rubbish lesson to learn but it is pretty important.
