Just waiting for delivery of my Hope Tech X2 Ltd brakes before fitting some blue floating rotors to the Orange and putting the Elixirs onto the Malt 4... :D

Thanks :D The deore hubs are 'okay' but i much prefer the hope ones, they feel instantly better...plus i love the noise the rear hub makes.

worth saving for, i'd expect them to last a long time too. Merlin Cycles make custom build and at decent prices, thats where i got mine from.

Well, they work, but who uses looseball hubs these days? Even their high end XT stuff uses looseball, i don't understand why they can't just use cartridge bearings like everyone else. Sorry, it's just one of those things that bugs me :P

My word. I fitted my XT chainset and new 'Control Tech' seat post (in white) a few days ago. And i am slightly lost for words at how smooth the XT chainset and BB are!! The Hope hubs and XT make such a difference i didnt realise.

Also...i might add...i fitted the BB and chainset myself for the first time, so a huge sense of acheivement prevailed...(i know i know, its not THAT hard, but it was my first attempt)..

Bottom line is, if you are thinking of getting an XT chainset, do it.

    That is all...
