What's more interesting is how you came about to be making such a comparison?!

To be fair, the British one is from 1980 when music videos were a rarity and MTV didn't yet exist, while Cher's effort was from 1989, a period of music video excess.

You may as well say in America they had this:

I'm sorry, I' promise to post with greater historical accuracy in Cake stop in future. Would it be better if I said...

I can see where Cher got the idea for this video.

Both watchable in the gay community I would imagine! The Cher vid as stated was from the excess 80s when she was on a comeback and tied in with Bon Jovi. Plus the Arizona class battleship and her 'costume' look good. Kid on gtr is her son from her marriage to Greg Allman. The other vid is just cheap and the SynDrums rubbish

I've been on that ship and you can't help but picture Cher on that 16" gun.

You don't realise how big those guns are until you either stand next to them or watch Cher attempt to straddle one.

Imagine shooting R Williams Esq with that gun. And I don't mean shooting him out of the end of it, I mean tying him to something about 8 feet away and shooting him with it.

Preferably phosphorus shells, if they make that that large. Alternatively, just half a fuckton of red hot steel will probably do teh job quite well.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM went the fat lad from Stoke.

Aye Wallace, that were a grand day out .......
