Sugino Super compact chainset

This is part question , partly for info - for those older riders like myself and/or those who like to spin and have a more useful set of gears than the standard road compact I have just come across this from Sugino ;
http://www.suginoltd.co.jp/english/ox80 ... nglish.htm
46/30 would be ideal for me and I could maybe use a smaller cassette at the back as well.
It even looks good and you can colour co-ordinate with the res of the bike.
Now the questions ;
1. I can't find anywhere in the UK that stock it.
2. Are there any problems with such a super compact double? I can see one in that braze on front mechs may be too high.
3. Sugino talk about a 'Q' factor - what is that?
Any other observations or comments.

Well a workdwide search proves that it can be bought - complete set about £250

I don't know how useful a 46/30 might be for you, but I use a 42/34 Stronglight Impact chainset (Spa Cycles). However, you can get 110BCD chainrings in a huge array of sizes.0

FWIW Sugino make most of Stronglight's products these daysMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

As Berk suggested why not just replace chainrings, something like this:

Might be easier to get hold of + cheaperCUBE Agree GTC Pro '10
Giant Defy 2 '090 -
The problem with other compact chainsets is that almost without fail none go below a 34 tooth, after that its generally a triple or maybe use MTB. The Stronglight Oxale used to be 44/29 if I remember correctly but its no longer produced so spares etc are hard to find.
This one seems to be the only road crankset that basically replicates a triple without the big ring. The usual 50/34 combo is fine for younger or stronger riders but I don't have the leg strength I used to. Spinning along in 60-70" gears is more my line with a need for something low to tackle bigger hills. With this as well there is no need for Sram Apex like 'dinner plate' cassettes on the back.0 -
Try a Stronglight Oxale (made by Sugino) or TA Carmina chainsetMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
